NT Video Gaming Industry announces first Game Jam for the Territory!

Digital Gaming

NT Videogame designers have been challenged to develop a game around the theme "Wet vs Dry Season" in the NT's first official Game Jam competition.

Delivered in a collaboration between Larrikin Interactive and Next Tier Gaming and Esports, the NT Game Jam 2021 is a chance for Territory game designers to show off their skills, learn and network with their peers in a fun and collaborative environment.

Dylan Bennet of Larrikin Interactive explains:

The game industry is exploding with no sign of slowing down. In 2021, the video game industry is bigger than the music industry plus the movie industry multiplied by two.

Of surprise to many is that statistically the average age of gamers is 33, and 47 per cent of players are female (Professor Brand and Mr Todhunter, Interactive Games and Entertainment Association, 2015).

Game submissions close 29 August 2021 with judging from 1-12 September.
