General Practice Training and Education Conference 2021

Tue 07 Sep 8:00am

Northern Territory General Practice Education is excited to bring the key stakeholders in Australian general practice training and education together at the Darwin Convention Centre for GPTEC 2021 to focus on the evolving horizons we are jointly facing.

View details

Northern Territory General Practice Education is excited to bring the key stakeholders in Australian general practice training and education together at the Darwin Convention Centre for GPTEC 2021 to focus on the evolving horizons we are jointly facing.

Medical and cultural educators, GP supervisors, registrars, medical students, junior doctors and program administrators will be united in the Territory’s tropical capital city as we continue the strong tradition of GPTEC; Australia’s only conference focussing on training and education of GP registrars.

Just as a horizon provides a stable constant, Australia’s regional training organisations have forged the path for training our general practice workforce, ensuring the GPs of tomorrow have the skills, knowledge and confidence required to meet the primary health care needs of their communities.

GPTEC 2021 will encourage thought and discussion around seizing the opportunities that will be brought about by the changes on the horizon for general practice training and education. The conference will bring the best aspects of both colleges to the fore, so the RTO network can look to the horizon for clarity as we continue to develop a sustainable general practice workforce.

The conference will inspire delegates to:

  • Discover new horizons: looking at new approaches, resources, technologies and research
  • Transform current horizons: looking at how we can adapt current approaches, strategies and resources throughout this period of transition
  • Preserve, maintain and protect enduring horizons: ensuring that the strategies, traditions and resources that have served us well in the past are maintained.
