Croc Pitch

Do you have an innovation that will make a difference to Australia’s Northern Territory?

Darwin Innovation Hub, with the support from the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade is hosting Croc Pitch 2021 on Wednesday 27 October. This year, in addition to pitches from Darwin, Croc Pitch will also be accepting virtual pitches from across the world so long as they can bring economic benefit to the Territory.

The winner of Croc Pitch 2021 will receive:

  • Placement in the Business Innovation Program with individual mentorship and assistance from our Innovator in Residence.
  • Up to $30,000 in Business Innovation Program grant funding with the usual 50:50 co-contribution waived.
  • Up to $1M in venture capital funding from the Paspalis Innovation Investment Fund.
  • 6 months of Darwin Innovation Hub investment readiness support.

Sam Pattemore of Corrosion Instruments was the Croc Pitch winner in 2019. As a tech based start-up Corrosion Instruments is developing systems to survey and monitor oil and gas pipelines. The technology accurately measures cathodic protection, collecting data in real-time, improving an outdated and costly process by providing a tool that didn't exist before.

Sam was awarded the $100,000 venture capital investment from Paspalis and an additional $50,000 Business Innovation funding from the Northern Territory Government. Sam was also awarded a 90 day placement at an Australian Government funding Landing Pad overseas with $5,000 towards costs.
