The Department of Trade, Business and Innovation is proud to announce that they have been recognised by the Australian Academy of Science as a Women in STEM Decadal Plan Champion in time for International Women's Day 2020.
Australia’s Women in STEM Decadal Plan provides a shared vision for the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) ecosystem to attract, retain and progress girls and women in STEM education and careers. Gender equity in STEM will make significant and measurable improvements in Australia's:
- preparedness for the future
- workforce participation
- economic performance
- scientific impacts
- creativity and entrepreneurial activities.
The Northern Territory (NT) Government supports and provides pathways to women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (WISTEM) in the Territory.
The NT 2018-28 Population Growth Strategy and Economic Development Framework outline key industries, programs and incentives to attract and retain girls and women to improve WISTEM outcomes and gender equity for the Territory.
The Department of Trade, Business and Innovation is proud to be the Women in STEM champion for the NT Government and is committed to improving outcomes for women in the workforce.
