Business Acceleration Program for Territory SMEs

Man and woman talking

The Business Acceleration Program is an initiative of the Northern Territory (NT) Government, hosted by the Darwin Innovation Hub, delivered by the Australian Centre for Business Growth (AUCBG). The program aim is to guide the Territory’s high potential small-medium enterprises (SMEs) to grow.

With SMEs accounting for 99.8% of the NT’s business sector, high growth potential SMEs are one of the Territory’s greatest opportunities to grow private sector investment and create jobs.

The program is for CEOs, managing directors and executives of NT-based companies with at least $1 million in revenue and 5-200 employees.

The Business Acceleration Program allows participants to engage with world leading growth expert Dr Jana Mathews and a team of proven entrepreneurs from the AUCBG.

The Business Acceleration Program takes participants through a series of clinics and modules designed to provide businesses with the clarity they require to analyse their business, develop opportunities and address barriers to expedite growth.

The AUCBG has been delivering world-class business growth programs to executives since 2014 and is currently working with governments of South Australia, Western Australian, Queensland and the ANZ bank to offer clinics to 600 CEOs and a three module growth program to 200 CEOs and 400+ executive team members.

The AUCBG reports that:

  • the first ten companies in the program increased their revenue by 149%, profit by 419% and added 41 jobs, and
  • all participating companies in the program have collectively grown company revenue by 30%, profits by 75% and added 777 new jobs.

Innovation drives productivity and competitiveness by turning new ideas into commercially successful new products, processes and services.

This program is a key action item from the NT Business Innovation Plan, scheduled for release in September 2018.

Expressions of interest for the Business Acceleration Program open from Monday 20 August to Monday 8 October 2018, or when fully booked.
