The Business Research Innovation Initiative (BRII) provides small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with grant funding to develop innovative solutions for government policy and service delivery challenges.
BRII is a unique opportunity for SMEs to test their innovative ideas, retain their intellectual property and commercialise their ideas.
Five new challenges have been identified in 2019, with up to $1.1 million of grant funding available for SMEs. The challenges are:
- intelligent data to transform tourism service delivery
- uplifting government capability to help deliver world-leading digital services
- managing the risks of hitchhiking pests and contaminants on shipping containers
- fast and secure digital identity verification for people experiencing family and domestic violence
- automating complex determinations for Australian Government information.
