Grants available for Territory food and beverage manufacturers

Energy Efficient

The Australian Government is offering grants of up to $25,000 for small and medium food and beverage manufacturers to adopt new energy technologies, saving money on energy bills and improving energy efficiency.

The grant funding, provided through the Energy Efficient Communities (EEC) program, can be used to replace existing equipment with more efficient models, carry out energy audits, or improve energy monitoring and management - helping manufacturing businesses lower the power bills and energy emissions.

The food and beverage manufacturing industry is the largest manufacturing sector in Australia employing 1 in 4 manufacturing workers and contributing $22.4 billion to the economy.

'The [Australian] Government is backing food and beverage manufacturers to be competitive through grants to lower their power costs and slash emissions as part of the solution to Australia’s carbon neutral future.'

 - Tim Wilson, Assistant Minister to the Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction

Applications for the Energy Efficient Communities (EEC) program close 18 February 2022. For more information on the program or submit an application, go to the Australian Government's Business website.
