Another amazing RoboCup Junior Competition in Alice Springs has come to an end!
Over 40 students from years 3 to 9 recently gathered at St. Phillip's College for the annual RoboCup Junior Competition. These young minds showcased their coding, robotics, teamwork, and sportsmanship skills forming 14 team to compete in three events.
A highlight of this year's competition was the 15% female participation, opening doors for the STEM stars of tomorrow. Cheers to mentor James from Modern Teaching Aids and guest judge Jameson from Red Dirt Robotics.
None of this would have happened without the dedication of the fantastic teachers and volunteers. Sponsors for this event were the Rotary Club of Alice Springs, Bunnings, Ekistica, and Alicetronics. Their support kept the gears turning, making sure this educational extravaganza continued to inspire the budding robotics engineers of Alice Springs.
Big shout out to the winners:
- Rescue Line: Team AWT (all-girl team from Larapinta Primary School)
- Sumo: The Purple Wall (all-boy team from St. Philip’s College)
- Mighty Maze: Miti Beanz (all-boy team from St. Philip’s College)
Thanks to St. Philip’s College for hosting this competition at The Minnamurra Hall. The RoboCup Junior Competition in Alice Springs is more than just a competition — it's a celebration of an inclusive playground for the tech leaders of the future!
