Menzies School of Health Research (Menzies) is one of Australia's leading medical research institutes. Headquartered in Darwin, Menzies operations extend globally. Brendon is experienced in executive leadership in the medical research, commercial, and public service sectors. He presently works as the deputy director at Menzies. He has responsibility for identifying income generation opportunities and partnerships, bringing a background in strategic planning, contract management, and organisational growth. Brendon is a lawyer, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an International Fellow at Oxford Health Partners, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and has completed executive education programs.

Stage 1 services

The approach that I adopt is working through 5 steps.

1. What is the problem statement and is it clear? This element identifies the phenomenon, situation or behaviour you’re looking to explain or understand.
2. The solution: an articulation of what you are proposing and why?
3. How is the problem a material issue that needs to be solved and why is your idea likely to work?
4. What will be done in what order? This step describes how the suggested innovation will take shape and, like a problem statement’s purpose, gives a sense of what you think needs to be done to find an answer.
5. Results and impact: What are you expecting to happen, and why?

Stage 1 package price: $2,000 plus GST.

Stage 2 services

Mentoring and coaching, including focus on the medical and health research sector, as well as innovation in developing country contexts (Asia and the Pacific) and across northern Australia. Services will include:

• additional, targeted market research
• MVP plan development
• viability assessment, considering technical and commercial factors.

Stage 2 package price: $1,500 per day plus GST.
