Have your say on the Territory's drone policy

Drone in a field

Following consultation with the the Northern Territory's (NT) drone industry, the NT Government has released an initial directions paper regarding market opportunities for growth and development of the drones industry in the NT.

The paper provides an overview of:

  • the current size, skills, capability and capacity of the drones industry in the Territory
  • potential opportunities and demand for drones services
  • the Territory’s comparative advantages in the drones supply chain
  • challenges currently facing the Territory drones industry.

Feedback from industry and stakeholders will play an important role in determining the governments final policy position on the drones industry and future development. While the government is seeking feedback from all members of the public, it is particularly interested in hearing from:

  • drones service providers
  • users of drones services across Territory industries
  • educational institutions
  • land councils
  • police, fire and emergency services organisations.

Submissions on the initial directions paper are open now on the Have Your Say website and closes at 8am on Tuesday 17 August 2021.
